launched in the city by WorldSpace in 2005. A network of optical
fibre cables connects the entire city. The city's telephone
service providers are landline and mobile operators like BSNL,
Reliance Infocomm, Airtel, Hutch and Tata Indicom. The Gujarat
film and television industry is also coming up.
Investment opportunities and real estate growth have encouraged
any banks and Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) to start operating
from Ahmedabad. Bank of Baroda established its first branch
