About Ansals
The Ansal Group is a conglomerate of 35 companies, with Ansal Properties and Industries Ltd, (Ansal API); Ansal Housing and Construction Limited, (AHCL) and Ansal Buildwell Ltd. (ABL) at the core of the Group. All three are public limited companies, and engaged in the entire gamut of civil construction and real estate development activity in India and abroad.
Its other group companies include Ansal Engineering Projects Ltd., Ansal Club Ltd., Ansal Hotels Ltd., Star Estates Management Ltd., Sunrise Management and Estate (P) Ltd., "Rigoss" Exports International Pvt. Ltd., and "Rigoss" Estates Network Pvt. Ltd.
Firmly ensconced in the development of real estate for the last 40 years, the Group’s turnover is around Rs. 350 crore and the projects in process cross Rs. 3,200 crores. Employing 5000 people nationwide, with over 1000 of these in supervisory and managerial positions, all three companies have acquired the ISO 9001-2000 certificate.
Ansal API has an extensive land bank of 5504 acres with a net value of Rs. 52, 375 crore spread across 16 towns and cities in North India. API’s joint venture companies include Ansal Landmark Township (P) Ltd, Greenmax Estates (P) Ltd, Ansal Mittal Township (P) Ltd, Ansal Lotus Melange (P) Ltd. and Ansal Seagull SEZ Developers Ltd.
Ansal Housing and Construction Limited (AHCL) started operations in 1986, and has undertaken 67.6 million sq. ft of real estate development in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Tier II cities in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. The company has performed well in the current fiscal year with higher production and sales volumes.
Ansal Buildwell Ltd(ABL) has expanded its portfolio to road construction and hi-tech engineering contracts and has registered steady progress with an improvement of 26.04%.in 2005-06
The Story Behind Ansals
Lala Chiranjiv Lal Ansal, founder of the Ansal Group started as building contractor in 1967, and moved up to build the House of Ansals with a mission to create a better quality of life through quality structures, achieving new landmarks in property development in India and overseas
Starting operations in Delhi with its first high rise building "Akash Deep" in New Delhi in 1969, Ansals quickly acquired contracts for landmark commercial buildings.
Till 1998, the three Ansal brothers i.e. Sushil, Gopal and Deepak jointly managed the family business. Now,
- Ansal Properties and Industries Ltd (APIL) is led by Sushil Ansal,
- Ansal Buildwell (ABL) by Gopal Ansal
- Ansal Housing and Construction Ltd. (AHCL) by Deepak Ansal.
Strengths
The Ansals brand enjoys the patronage of domestic and overseas customers and has built up a reputation for its focus on quality and adherence to timelines. Its strength comes from its dedicated team of professionals and specialists. Ansal API has been awarded the "Most Trusted Real Estate Brand" by Reader’s Digest in 2006.
Its responsible efforts towards the environment during the execution of all its projects have earned Ansals API the prestigious Certification of Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2004 from the Kvalitet Veritas Quality Assurance (KVQA), accredited to NORSK of Norway. The company has its own advisory panel of highly qualified environmentalists who check out on the eco-viability of every project
The stability of the Ansals group is reflected in its top-of-the line clientele - HDFC Group, ICICI Prudential, Reebok, Citibank, Adlabs, and Iffco-Tokio, to name a few.
The group has a talented in-house team of architects, engineers and planners in its consultancy division to execute its projects, though external services are also taken in specialized areas.
Future Outlook
Of its total land bank, API owns 56% of it in the form of plots. The company intends to shift its focus to value-added development, or constructed property. API’s thrust areas would be expansion into hospitality, and a focus on premium locations in Tier II cities of North India. Retirement homes for senior citizens are also on the agenda of the company.
At AHCL, a multi-pronged approach has been adopted to grow uniformly across all avenues in real estate. The focus will be on developing integrated townships across India, under the "Ansals Courtyard" or Ansal Town brand. and establishing an early presence in Tier II cities which are yet unexplored. In the pipeline are projects in Parwanoo, Bhopal, Narnaul, Shahpur, Ajmer, Zirakpur, Paonta Sahib, Panchkula and Yamuna Nagar Simultaneously, it plans to penetrate the Tier I cities further, as it has done so with recently launched residential apartments in Mulund and Worli, Mumbai. It chooses to make a cautious approach to SEZs and IT Parks, but will pioneer mall development in integrated townships.
AHCL has ambitious plans to expand in tandem with the booming retail market. The company is focusing on high-growth areas of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, and Tier II cities in North India.  |
